The 6th edition of the International Science Accelerator Competition
in collaboration with the Euro Space Center in Belgium, May 2023
The Science Accelerator competition provides a unique platform for young space entrepreneurs to showcase their accomplishments in the Science Accelerator program and present their space startups.
Leading up to the competition, participants will have the opportunity to network with their peers from around the world and enhance their knowledge of space with special activities at the Euro Space Center.
On competition day, each team will present a 10-minute sales pitch deck of their space startup including a minimum viable product (MVP) to a panel of professional judges. They will then answer judges' questions and receive a score based on their performance.
At the end of the competition, the judges will select the top three startups among the participants. Don't miss this exciting opportunity to engage with accelerators from around the world and witness the future of the space industry unfold before your eyes.
COMPETITION AGENDA
Day 1 - Arrival in Brussels, Belgium, transportation to Hotel in Libin, Belgium. Social interaction and story-telling workshop, preparations for the competition.
Day 2 - Arrival at Euroe Space Center, Activities at the Euro Space Center, including the mission to the International Space Station (ISS), followed by preparation time for the competition.
Day 3 - Activities at the Euro Space Center, including the mission to Ariane. Movie evening planned.
Day 4 - Preparation for the competition in the auditorium, followed by the competition itself from 16:00 to 19:00. Each team will have 10 minutes for their pitch and 10 minutes for the judges' questions. Dinner buffet featuring Teroir cuisine. Announcement ceremony for the medals and certificates.
Day 5 - A day in Brussels for cultural experiences, followed by departure from the airport.

Dr. Pierre Servais
Associate Professor
Pierre Servais has served 15 years as technical officer at Belgian Air Force as responsible for NDT squadron. In 2002, he became the first level 3 NDT in 6 methods. In 2007 he worked mainly for Airbus Group inside Europe to validate aerospace manufacturing industries for their NDT processes. He made also more than 100 Nadcap audits and was the founder of National Aerospace NDT Examination Center. He is also certified by Rolls Royce, Boeing, Safran and more recently by ASNT. He is also responsible level 3 NDT for 28 companies in Europe and Asia.
Josias Van Droogenbroeck
Head of Innovation at the Embassy of Israel to Belgium and Luxembourg
Josias Van Droogenbroeck
mission is to promote Israeli Innovation and facilitate economic relations between the two countries and Israel.
He notably worked on several high techs topics like green Energy, Fintech, Medtech, Water Tech and many others.
Passionate about Space, Josias is an advocate of Israel’s great achievements in Aerospace.
Dr. Jacob Cohen
Chief Scientist
NASA Ames Research Center
Jacob Cohen is a scientist at NASA Ames Research Centre. He is Chief Scientist for the International Space Station (ISS) Utilization Office, the Deputy Division Chief (Acting) for the Mission Design Division and the Director of the Ames Biology Office within the Engineering Directorate at the Ames Research Center. He is also responsible for implementing new biology-based opportunities.
Cohen also works with the Mission Development Division, the NanoSatellite Mission Office, and other directorates and divisions to develop small spacecraft utilization and application strategies.
Tamar Levi
Author and Illustator
Starting out writing and illustrating while studying philosophy and educational psychology in
London and Cambridge, Tamar also consulted for a leading multinational company.
She has published awardwinning books (as an editor, co-author or illustrator) that are designed for use in the
classroom, with educational guidelines and lesson plans as well as educational and
therapeutic tools for families.
Besides sold-out art exhibitions and award-winning illustrated books, Tamar has also won an
award for her research on her PhD in English and creative writing.
